LeBron James And Kent State Just Surprised 193 High School Students With Free College Tuition And Their Reaction Was Priceless

Source - This is the best video you'll see all day ... nearly 200 students from LeBron James' I Promise school network found out they were getting FREE college tuition.

The junior class from Bron's program was told they were going on a college visit to Kent State University in Northeast Ohio but when they arrived on campus, they got a whole lot more than a tour.

School officials revealed that all 193 kids would have all 4 years of their schooling paid for as well as, 1 free year of room and board.

Awesome. Tuition for in-state students at Kent State is around $11K per year and while that may not seem like much, to a lot of students it is. Add room and board to the equation and the reality of going to college can start to feel like a dream. So to see these kids find out that they were getting it for free was awesome. The parents' reaction was even better...

For those of you who don't know what the 'I Promise School' is, here's a description:

Promise School (IPS) is a public elementary school in Akron, Ohio, opened in 2018, supported by the LeBron James Family Foundation, and specifically aimed at at-risk children.

Opening with students attending grades three and four, the school will be fully operational by 2022, eventually teaching grades one through eight.

The school deploys a STEM-based curriculum. "The Family Resource Center" and the school's "family plan" are aimed at the students' families to ensure a stable learning experience at home. Deviating from traditional timetables, school days last from 8 to 5. Summer vacation is shortened significantly and shorter breaks are scattered throughout the year instead.

Say what you want about Lebron on the court, but off the court he seems like a pretty good dude. Having said that, I'd be lying if I said the entire reason I wrote this blog in the first place wasn't because I wanted to include this clip. Enjoy.
